Our own heat treatment center to develop and assure processes

The stage from prototype from laboratory manufacture to a product that can be manufactured on an industrial scale is seldom achieved by simply upscaling. Because a suitable pilot furnace plant is relatively expensive and requires many degrees of freedom in order to determine the final production parameters, we decided to set up a heat treatment center in early 2009.

It enables the manufacture of small production series, process development, sampling and, if necessary, a seamless transition to series production. This yet another systematic step towards even more efficient and economic project work that meets even the most discerning of demands.

To start off, two furnaces are available:

PyrolyseofenPyrolysis Furnace

GERO hood furnace typ HBO 120 to 1100°C with hot wall retort.
Useful diameter: 600 mm, Max. piece high: 500 mm

Typical applications:

  • Reduction and soft annealing
  • Brazing
  • Thermal debinding / pyrolysis

Process atmospheres:

  • Vacuum to 650°C
  • Nitrogen, argon and hydrogen to 1100°C

SinterofenSintering Furnace

GERO vacuum sintering furnace typ HTK 400/24 3G to 2400°C within a graphite retort
Usefull volume: Width 650 mm, Height 670 mm, Dept 930 mm

Typical applications:

  • Sintering of SIC
  • Sintering of other technical nonoxide ceramics
  • Silicon infiltration

Process atmospheres:

  • Vacuum to 2200°C
  • Nitrogen, argon and CO to 2400°C.
